Venture Deals
DFW-Based Company Fundings
Backflip (Dallas, TX), the all-in-one real estate and financial technology platform for real estate entrepreneurs, raised a $15M Series A led by FirstMark Capital with participation from Vertical Venture Partners, LiveOak Venture Partners, Revel Partners, ECMC, Crow Holdings, and notable angels.
Breaking (Dallas, TX & Boston, MA), a plastic degradation and synthetic biology company, emerged from Stealth with $10.5M after gestating at Colossal (Dallas, TX).
Cariloop (Richardson, TX), a leading comprehensive caregiver support platform, raised a $20M Series C round led by ABS Capital with participation from Noro-Moseley Partners, KCRise Fund, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, and Patterson Thoma Family Office.
Island (Dallas, TX), the pioneer and category leader in enterprise browsers, raised a $175M Series D led by Coatue and Sequoia Capital, doubling its valuation to $3B.
PX Technology (Plano, TX), a pioneer in digitizing healthcare processes, was acquired by CareMetx (Bethesda, MD), a technology-enabled hub services platform that facilitates patient access to specialty medications.
StrikeReady (Richardson, TX), an AI pioneer advancing the way modern security teams operate, raised a $12M Series A round led by 33N Ventures with participation from Hitachi Ventures, Monta Vista Capital, Brian NeSmith, exec. chairman and fmr. CEO at Arctic Wolf, and Rod Beckstrom, fmr. CEO of ICANN and Founding Director of U.S. National Cybersecurity Center (now CISA).
DFW-Based Investor Transactions
AT&T Ventures (Dallas, TX) participated in the $300M Series C round for Cyera (New York, New York), a leader in data security. The round was led by Coatue with participation from Spark Capital, Georgian, Sequoia, Accel, Redpoint, and Cyberstarts.
Avidity Partners (Dallas, TX) participated in the $132.5M Series C for Endeavor BioMedicines, Inc. (San Diego, CA) a based clinical-stage biotechnology company. The round was led by AyurMaya, an affiliate of Matrix Capital Management, with participation from Fidelity Management & Research, Invus, SymBiosis, Velosity Capital, and Woodline Partners, and others.
Avidity Partners (Dallas, TX) participated in the $158M Series B-2 funding for TORL BioTherapeutics (Los Angeles, CA), a clinical-stage biotechnology company. The round was led by Deep Track Capital, with participation from RA Capital Management, Perceptive Advisors, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, UC Investments, Bristol Myers Squibb, Vertex Ventures HC, Moore Strategic Ventures, Blue Owl Healthcare Opportunities, and Perceptive Xontogeny Venture Fund.
Colt Ventures (Dallas, TX) participated in the $132M Series B round for Alterome Therapeutics (San Diego, CA), a biopharmaceutical company pioneering the development of small-molecule targeted therapies for cancer treatment. The round was led by Goldman Sachs Alternatives with participation from Canaan Partners, Invus, Driehaus Capital Management, Digitalis Ventures, Blue Owl Capital, Orbimed, Nextech Invest, Vida Ventures, Boxer Capital.
Crow Holdings (Dallas, TX) participated in the $15M Series A for Backflip (Dallas, TX), the all-in-one real estate and financial technology platform for real estate entrepreneurs. The round was led by FirstMark Capital with participation from Vertical Venture Partners, LiveOak Venture Partners, Revel Partners, ECMC, and notable angels.
Cubit Capital (Dallas, TX) participated in the $650k funding round for PairTree (Seattle, WA), a startup that matches expectant moms with families who are eager to adopt.
FortyTwo.VC (McKinney, TX) participated in the $1M funding of GoodGist, a Foster City, CA-based company which specializes in corporate skills development and knowledge management automation. Additional investors include Cedar Ridge Ventures, DX Partners
Maverick Capital (Dallas, TX) participated in the $80M Series B for Auradine (Santa Clara, CA), a leading provider of web infrastructure solutions, including blockchain, security, and AI. Additional participants include StepStone Group, Top Tier Capital Partners, MVP Ventures, Celesta Capital, Mayfield Fund, and Marathon Digital.
Maverick Capital (Dallas, TX) led a $70M Series B extension for SiMa.ai (San Jose, CA), a software centric, embedded edge machine learning system-on-chip company. Point72, Jericho, Amplify Partners, Dell Technologies Capital, Fidelity Management, and Lip-Bu Tan also participated in the round.
North Texas Angel Network (NTAN) invested $150k into PodUp (Rexburg, ID), a SaaS platform helping create, grow, and monetize next-level podcasts in a single, integrated platform, to accelerate their ability to serve clients.
Patterson Thoma Family Office (Dallas, TX) participated in the $20M Series C round for Cariloop (Richardson, TX), a leading comprehensive caregiver support platform. The round was led by ABS Capital with participation from Noro-Moseley Partners, KCRise Fund, and Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund.
Shift Left Ventures (Plano, TX) participated in the $3.3M Seed round for Amplifier Security (Atlanta, GA), a provider of an automation and security copilot. The round was led by Cota Capital with participation from WestWave Capital, and angel investments from founders of Slack, MobileIron, Centrify, PeopleNet, Skyflow and Mercury.
StatLab Medical Products (McKinney, TX), a developer and manufacturer of medical diagnostic supplies and equipment, acquired Poly Scientific R&D (Bay Shore, NY), a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality pathology stains, tissue controls, reagents, and paraffin for anatomic pathology laboratories.
