Howdy folks,
Welcome to the 24th edition of the Dallas Venture Deals newsletter. What better way to celebrate freedom this 4th of July than to acknowledge and reflect on the pace at which capital is flowing freely to and from companies in our region. Our market continues to heat up, and through just half of this year, we've amassed more than $1.4B, matching last year’s total in only six months.
Caris Life Sciences out of Irving led the charge with a $494M IPO, one of the largest national listings this year and a milestone moment for the region’s growing strength in life sciences. Aerones, with its Dallas footprint and Latvian roots, closed a $62M round to bring robotics and AI to the wind energy sector showing a strong signal for the future of energy tech in Texas.
DataBahn.ai raised $17M to help enterprises move faster and more securely in the cloud, while Guidehealth brought in $10M from Emory Healthcare to advance its AI-enabled value-based care platform. Nada continued making moves in the home equity space, combining a $9M venture round with the acquisition of $10M in home equity agreements to expand its fund.
On the investor side, North Texas capital continues to reach far and wide. Actium Group led a $15M investment in biotech startup Signify Bio, joined by the Gates Foundation and Eli Lilly.
Maverick Capital backed Boulder-based Infleqtion, a quantum tech company, in a $100M Series C. And AT&T Ventures took part in a $540M round for Cyera, the fastest-growing data security company on record.
From frontier tech to healthcare, and from Fort Worth to Plano, the DFW region continues to punch above its weight. As always, thanks for reading and staying close to the action.
Happy 4th of July. Long America. Long Texas.
