Venture Deals

DFW-Based Company Fundings - June

  • La La Land Kind Cafe (Dallas, TX), a cafe with a purpose of hiring and mentoring foster youth + normalizing kindness, raised $20M from Andy Teller and John Phelan. 

  • OxeFit (Plano, TX), a digital fitness and tech company harnessing the power of AI and robotics to design smart strength training systems, raised $20M in a Series A2 ($45M raised to date), from investors including Dak Prescott, Dez Bryant, Dustin Johnson, Harry Kane, Jalen Ramsey, Jason Witten, Matthew Kemp, and Thaddeus Young.

  • PawTree (Southlake, TX), a manufacturer of pet food products intended to offer quality treats for all sorts of pets, announced that it is raising $6.47M in new debt financing. 

  • Renibus Therapeutics (Southlake, TX), a clinical-stage biotech company dedicated to transforming the cardiorenal disease treatment paradigm by focusing on the prevention and treatment of kidney disease, announced that it is raising $73.4M in new equity investment. 

  • Solenic Medical (Addison, TX), a developer of a device that uses alternating magnetic fields (AMF) to treat a prosthetic joint infections (PJI), raised a $5.1M  Series A. The round was led by Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc., joined by other major medical device investors such as ShangBay Capital and Highpoint Ventures.

  • Space Auto (Dallas, TX), a provider of integrated software and marketing solutions for car dealerships, raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding. The round saw participation from John Paul DeJoria (co-founder of Paul Mitchell, founder of Patrón Tequila, and founder of John Paul Pet). 

  • Yendo (Dallas, TX), the company that created the first-ever vehicle-secured credit card, raised a $24M Series A. The round was led by FPV Ventures, joined by existing investors Human Capital and Autotech Ventures.

DFW-Based Investor Transactions - June

  • Avidity Partners (Dallas, TX) participated in $260M Series F for Aledale (Bethesda, MA), the nation’s largest network of independent primary care practices, alongside Venrock and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

  • Congruent Investment Partners (Dallas, TX) announced equity investment in AAA Fabrication (Kemp, TX), a provider of custom metal fabricated products.

  • CPMG (Dallas, TX) led the $82.5M Series D for Augmedics (Raleigh, NC), an augmented reality surgical-navigation platform.

  • Crestline Investors (Fort Worth, TX) led the $58.35M funding round for Upperline Health (Nashville, TN), the nation’s largest provider network dedicated to specialty value-based care, with additional participation from previous investors including Silversmith Capital Partners and Adam Boehler.

  • Cypress Growth Capital (Dallas, TX) provided non-dilute funding for PickNik (Boulder, CO), an advanced robotic software and services provider specializing in motion planning, control and perception for non-industrial robotic systems.

  • Entourage Effect Capital (Dallas, TX) invested in $9M Series B for Botanica (Seattle, WA), the makers of Mr. Moxey’s and Journeyman cannabis-infused edibles. The round was led by KEY Investment Partners and GreenAxs Capital, with participation from AFI Capital Partners. 

  • Legacy Knight (Dallas, TX) invested in $60M Series C for Cart.com (Austin, TX), the leading provider of comprehensive commerce solutions that enable merchants to sell and fulfill everywhere, alongside B. Riley Venture Capital, Kingfisher Investment Advisors, Snowflake Ventures, Prosperity7 Ventures, and other strategic corporate and financial investors. 

  • Sidekick Partners (Dallas, TX) invested in $6M funding round for Seven Sundays (Minneapolis, MN), a growing cereal company. The round was led by a group of individual private investors, with participation from Clover Vitality, grt sht Ventures, and internet chef Bobby Parrish.

DFW-Based Investor Transactions - July

  • Beyond Capital Ventures (Dallas, TX) invested in $21M Series B for Kasha (Rwanda), a digital platform for last mile access. The round was led by Knife Capital, with participation from FinnFund, DFC, Altree Capital, Tim Koogle and Pam Scot, Bamboo Capital’s BLOC SmartAfrica Fund, Five35 Ventures and other new and existing investors.

  • CPMG (Dallas, TX) led a $52M Series C for Ossium Health (San Francisco, CA), a bioengineering company developing a bank of on-demand bone marrow, with additional participation from Vivo Capital, First Round Capital, Manta Ray Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Asahi Kasei.

  • Cypress Growth Capital (Dallas, TX) provided $2M of non-dilutive funding for PFA Solutions (Fairfax, VA), a software solution tailored to the unique needs of private equity, venture capital, and other investment firms.

  • Impact Ventures (Dallas, TX) participated in $2.6M seed round for Goodhood (Dallas, TX), a subscription-first tech startup revolutionizing the car care experience. The round was led by Bullish with participation from Okapi Capital, Mucker Capital, New Age Ventures, Kubera Venture Capital.

  • Morrison Seger Venture Capital Partners (Dallas, TX) invested in Snaps Clothing Co, an apparel business modernizing pearl snap shirts.

  • NGP (Dallas, TX) invested in $25M Series B for Orennia (Calgary, AB), an energy transition analytics platform. The round was led by Wellington Management, with participation from Quantum Innovation Fund, Veriten, and Tupper Lake Partners.

  • Scientific Health Development (Dallas, TX) co-led a $6.2M Series B for Liberate Medical (Crestwood, KY), a developer of novel neuromuscular electrical stimulation technology, alongside an unnamed investor.

  • Sidekick Partners (Dallas, TX) invested in $16M Series A for in Arrive Recommerce (Santa Monica, CA), a resale technology company empowering “Returns to Recommerce™” for brands and retailers. The round was led by Javelin Venture Partners and Climatic VC, with participation from Maersk Growth, Cosmic Venture Partners, 444 Capital, Freestyle VC, Animo VC, Banana Capital, Alpaca VC, Regeneration VC, and Wedbush Ventures.

  • Summit Peak Investments (Fort Worth, TX) invested in $24M Series B for Cyble (Atlanta, GA), an AI-powered threat intelligence platform that tracks hacker activity. The round was co-led by Blackbird Ventures and King River Capital with participation from Spider Capital, January Capital and others.

  • What If Ventures (Frisco, TX) invested in $16M Series A for Affect Therapeutics (McLean, VA), a substance addiction therapy startup. The round was led by TechBio-focused ARTIS Ventures with additional participation from AlleyCorp and CityLight, LifeArc Ventures, and Samsung Next.
